They should be able to read a situations and react with appropriate aggression or passiveness. This is something we strive for in our dogs, as we find this allows their versatility to really show through. We also value dogs with strong work ethic, biddability, pack drive, hunt drive, adaptability, hardness, forwardness, eagerness to please, and willingness to take on any task asked of them. |
Dakota - The Dog Who Started It All
Dakota is a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever cross, his titles and accomplishments include: OB1, CGC, CA, RATI, SRD-B, PD-S (Splash Dogs), UMJ, and Mondioring OB1. He was also trained as a diabetic alert service dog. He started out as a difficult dog and because of this, I credit Dakota for most of my current knowledge. Because of him I started getting involved in the world of dogs and overcame many challenges with his temperament. He showed me the value of genetic traits and what can happen when certain traits are lacking. Without him, I likely would not be where I am today.
Dakota won Splash Dog's National Championships Pro division Super Vertical 2012 and 2013. In 2014 he placed second in his division.
His personal best in vertical is 6'8, and his personal best in distance is 23'1.
Dakota passed on May 5th, 2022 to what was most likely hermangiosarcoma. He was surrounded by those he loved.
